My Little Clone

When my big sis was in town she showed me apicture of myself when I was about 3 days old and she said she thought it looked like one of the pictures of Arden. I wasnt sure that I could see the similarities at that point. I was too distracted by how funny looking I was! LOL. (It's ok I got cuter in a few weeks!) But this weekend I decided to look at the picture again and hold it next to the picture of Arden. The similarities are kind of scary!. It looks like it could be the same baby! I am going to try to post the two pictures so that you all can see, but I will have to scan my picture, so I will do it soon.

In other news, Arden is doing very well. The doctor says that she is really getting herself ready to come on out. He predicts that she will be here by the 10th. Sooner would be fine with me! I just hope she is born by the 10th because that is when my spring break begins and I would like to have that week home with her too. Everyone send me some {{{{{{{labor vibes}}}}}}} so that I will have her soon! I think she and I will be much happier and more comfortable with her on the outside.

Here are her stats this week. I am 36 weeks now (Officially 9 months!)

Arden is still putting on the pounds — about an ounce a day. Her weight is approaching 6 pounds and she is a little less than 19 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the creamy substance that covered and protected her skin during its submersion in amniotic fluid. Arden swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, which will stay in her bowels until birth. This blackish mixture, called meconium, will become her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, Arden will be considered full-term.

Stay tuned for a side by side comparison of my and Arden's pictures.... Unless she decides to make her appearance in person very soon!

Sorry

I skipped 34 weeks it seems. I am 35 weeks now. I am tired and am ready for Arden to get here. I am trying not to be too cranky but often times I wish I could bite people's heads off! My feet and hands are starting to swell and the baby is sitting very low in my pelvis. So I think she will be here soon. At least I hope she will. My mom thinks I will go in about 2 more weeks. I guess we shall see. I have more to do before her arrival. I have to assemble a few more things and arrange some things in her room. Lots of work, not much time! Well I am going to post the 35 week stats. Until next time.

Arden's getting big. She weighs about 5 pounds and is just over about 18 inches long. Because it's so snug in the womb, she isn't doing somersaults anymore, but she tries her best to stretch out her little arms and legs. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
